Genealogy

Genealogy

Girard Public Library houses a Genealogy and History Department complete with obituaries from Crawford County, cemetery records, microfilm, historical photos, census records, marriage records, historical maps, and printing straight from the microfilm! Research can be done by anyone or a search can be done by the library for a small fee.

Research in Person

The Genealogy Room is on our first floor and is open the same hours the library is open. The door does stay locked when it isn’t in use, but a key can be collected from either the Children’s area Front Desk or the upstairs’ Front Desk.

Research Application Form

“Genealogy Application Form“

$7 per search fee. It must be paid in advance. No refunds for negative searches.

Genealogy research will be conducted by the staff or a part-time volunteer pending a completed application. The Genealogy Application Form and money can be delivered in person or by mail.
