The Young Adult Summer Program begins the week of June 7th and goes as follows:

Mondays: 6th-12th grade turn in points by 3:30

Every Other Wednesday: 6th grade-12th grade 1:00-2:00 Activity

There will be drawings and prizes given to readers along with many planned activities.

Girard Public Library teen corner offers a relaxing atmosphere with comfortable chairs, couches, coffee tables, and lighting to sit and quietly visit with friends as a hangout or read a magazine or book. Ages 12 - 18 only please! There are hundreds of YA books, magazines, & illustrative stories for the teens to check out & enjoy. Please check out their "YA INFO JUNCTION!" bulletin board & current month bulletin board to keep up on current events and activities around the library or with affiliated organizational activites! We also have a calendar posted with YA activities each month downstairs by the Children's Department.

Girard Public Library will try to schedule an Internet Cafe' for ages 13-18! This activity includes laptop computers & internet access for gaming, IM's, informational website lookup, & music listening; snacks & food during other activities like board & interactive multiplayer games; music catering to the teens taste; and a teen movie incorporated in the room for other forms of entertainment. A laid back atmosphere for teens to be entertained for their 1/2 day off from school! Our next Teen Internet Cafe' will be this school year!
